Job summary

SpaceX in Memphis seeks a Data Center Safety Engineer (Electrical) to establish safety controls across its AI infrastructure and supercomputing facilities. You will lead electrical safety programs, ensure proper grounding, monitor power quality, and validate ATS/generator failover from a safety standpoint.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, and experience with NFPA/OSHA/IEC standards, PFMEA and data-center operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with arc-flash analysis, LOTO, and electrical safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical safety programs including arc-flash analysis, LOTO, and safe work practices on UPS, PDUs, switchgear, and generators
• Conduct regular risk assessments of power systems, cooling infrastructure, fire/smoke, energy storage, and human factors
• Validate automatic transfer switch (ATS) and generator failover procedures from a safety perspective
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, OSHA, IEC, etc.)
• Develop, maintain, and drill emergency response plans for power loss, cooling failure, and other incidents
