Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) invites an Electrical Component Engineer to join the Component Engineering Group in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline; substitution possible with equivalent experience.
  • Experience with sourcing issues for electronic and mechanical components.
  • Experience with BOM obsolescence analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, codes, and theory.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Selects, qualifies, and manages mechanical and electromechanical components used in product designs.
  • Interfaces with mechanical design, procurement, and manufacturing to ensure reliable, cost-effective parts.
  • Maintains AML and part specifications for environmental and ethical compliance.
  • Performs lifecycle and obsolescence management and mitigates supply chain risk.
  • Sources components and updates designs/documentation as needed.
  • Collaborates with suppliers and internal teams on DFM solutions.
