Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a mid-level Engineer II, Electrical BoP to support renewable generation assets. You will analyze electrical BOP systems, perform short-circuit and arc-flash studies, and develop ETAP models.

Collaboration across Operations, Asset Management, and Compliance ensures assets meet reliability targets. The role requires 3+ years in power systems, experience with substation/BOP equipment, and familiarity with NERC standards.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics.
• EIT preferred and working toward PE.
• Minimum 3 years in power systems engineering with short-circuit and arc flash experience.
• 3+ years operating and analyzing high voltage power systems equipment.
• Experience with generation, distribution equipment, and renewables.

Responsibilities

• Perform short-circuit studies and arc flash analyses.
• Recommend mitigation to reduce incident energy.
• Prepare one-line diagrams and device coordination diagrams.
• Develop and maintain electrical system models in ETAP.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and validate inputs.
• Provide support for NERC standards (PRC-019, PRC-024).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to improve study methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA.
