Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an Engineer II, Electrical BoP to support renewal generation assets with a focus on BOP equipment and systems. You will analyze substations, transformers, relays, and power plant controllers, collaborating with Operations, Asset Management, and Compliance to ensure reliability.

The role requires approximately 3 years of experience in electrical power systems, proficiency with single-line/three-line diagrams, and knowledge of NERC standards (PRC-019/024).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• EIT preferred, working towards PE certificate.
• 3+ years in power systems engineering including short-circuit/arc flash studies.
• Experience with high voltage power systems equipment.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short-circuit studies and arc flash hazard analyses for electrical systems.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce incident energy levels.
• Prepare technical documentation including one-line diagrams and device coordination.
• Develop and maintain electrical system models using ETAP.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to gather system data.
• Provide technical support for NERC standards (PRC-019, PRC-024) and related studies.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards across projects.
