Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks an Engineer II, Electrical BoP to support balance of plant electrical systems for renewable generation assets. The role emphasizes short-circuit analyses, arc flash studies, and ETAP modeling, with collaboration across Operations, Asset Management, Compliance, and Development/Construction.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in power systems, familiarity with protective relaying, and knowledge of NERC standards such as PRC-019 and PRC-024.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or Physics.
• EIT preferred and pursuing PE.
• Minimum 3 years in power systems engineering.
• Experience with high voltage power systems equipment.
• Experience with short-circuit and arc flash studies.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short-circuit studies and arc flash analyses for electrical systems.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce incident energy levels.
• Prepare technical documentation, including one-line diagrams and protective device coordination.
• Develop and maintain electrical system models using ETAP.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and validate inputs.
• Provide technical support for NERC standards such as PRC-019, PRC-024.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to streamline power system study processes.
