Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an Engineer II, Electrical BoP to support balance of plant power systems across renewable assets. The role focuses on substations, transformers, and protective device coordination, using ETAP and related tools.

You will work with Operations, Asset Management, and Compliance to ensure reliable, compliant generation assets. Requirements include a BS in EE (or related field), 3+ years in power systems, and familiarity with NERC standards (PRC-019/024).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or Physics.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred, working toward PE certification.
• Minimum 3 years in power systems engineering focusing on short-circuit and arc flash studies.
• Minimum 3 years operating and analyzing high voltage power systems equipment.
• Familiarity with NERC standards (PRC-019, PRC-024).
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short-circuit studies and arc flash hazard analyses.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce incident energy levels.
• Prepare technical documentation including one-line diagrams and protective device coordination.
• Develop and maintain electrical system models using ETAP.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and validate inputs.
• Support NERC standards compliance and conduct related studies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to streamline power system study processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and standards.
