Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Engineer II, Electrical BOP, to support renewable generation assets with focus on balance of plant equipment and systems. The role emphasizes short circuit and arc flash studies, requiring a PE license and extensive experience in power systems analysis.

The position involves travel 20‑25% and collaboration with Operations, Asset Management, Compliance, and Development teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• 7+ years in power systems engineering focusing on short circuit and arc flash studies.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, NESC, OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analyses for electrical systems.
• Approve study reports.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce incident energy levels.
• Prepare technical documentation, including one‑line diagrams, protective device coordination, and arc flash labeling.
• Develop and maintain accurate electrical system models using ETAP.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to gather system data and validate inputs.
• Provide training and mentorship on electrical safety and power system analysis.
• Provide technical support for NERC standards (e.g., PRC‑019, PRC‑024) and studies to meet compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline processes, procedures, and methodologies.
