Job summary

RTX in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Electrical Assembler III to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The role involves assembly, soldering, wiring, potting, and inspection of electronic and electro‑mechanical products in a high‑reliability environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, vocational/technical training, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. IPC‑610 certification is preferred and ability to obtain J‑STD‑001 certification may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic manual or machine assembly tasks on Printed Wiring Boards or unit assemblies.
  • Identify components, parts, wires and materials using markings and labels.
  • Use hand tools and soldering equipment, and operate assembly machines.
  • Measure, mix and apply chemicals and adhesives; read assembly instructions and standards.
  • Operate computer systems for work instructions, labor charging, and standards.
  • Process material requisitions and verify work instructions.
  • Train other employees and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Electrical Assembler III – Responsible for assembly, soldering, potting, wiring and inspection of electronic and electro‑mechanical products used in aerospace applications. Requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain J‑STD‑001 certification.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic manual or machine assembly tasks on Printed Wiring Boards or unit assemblies.
  • Identify components, parts, wires and materials using part markings, color codes, container labels, etc.
  • Utilize hand tools (manual and power) and assembly machines, including soldering equipment.
  • Measure, mix and apply chemicals and adhesives; read and interpret assembly instructions, process instructions and engineering standards.
  • Operate computer systems for work instructions, labor charging, and standards.
  • Process material requisitions and verify work instructions.
  • Resolve assembly and work‑area issues; maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Train other employees and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must Have:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
    • Vocational or technical education in a related discipline.
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electronics/electro‑mechanical assembly.
  • Preference:
    • IPC‑610 certification.
    • Proven experience in electronics or electro‑mechanical assembly.
Physical Demand
  • Transport products with or without carts.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Sit or stand at workbench/machines for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, reach, turn, and use hands for extended periods (grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting).
  • Use magnification devices for extended periods to perform verification, assembly and soldering.
Work Environment Characteristics
  • Manual or light power tools.
  • Products of varying weights and sizes.
  • High air pressure and medium to high temperature equipment/materials.
  • Equipment with moving parts, chemicals and adhesives that may emit fumes.
