Job summary

Exelon, a major utility company based in Washington, DC, seeks a supervising craft leader to direct the construction, operations, and maintenance of electric and gas facilities within the distribution area. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, customer focus, and adherence to bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities include leading a team of craft personnel, managing on-call emergency coverage, and coordinating with multiple internal groups to achieve reliability and performance goals.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years internal utility company experience or equivalent external experience
• 2-3 years internal supervisory experience or acceptable Supervisory Assessment
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Demonstrated knowledge of operating and construction work practices
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to support and enforce safe work behavior; knowledge of safety rules and practices
• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• Current Operator Qualification for gas mains/services (preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement and related procedures (preferred)
• Ability to train personnel in line construction practices (preferred)
• Ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective actions (preferred)
• Extensive experience in construction, maintenance and operation of overhead/underground electric facilities (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct craft employees to meet safety, reliability and productivity goals
• Provide leadership and development for the craft workforce; conduct performance reviews
• Coordinate emergency response to restore service with 24-hour on-call responsibilities
• Work within department budgets and plan resource coverage
• Promote a high-performance culture and a diverse, learning organization
