The United Illuminating Company is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on the repair, replacement, maintenance, and new construction of the electric distribution infrastructure. You will perform power systems engineering analysis, design, and calculations while promoting safety, teamwork, and reliable service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Advanced engineering degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the power industry.
• Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination.
• Professional Engineer license is desired.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Power System Engineering design.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work with a cross-functional team to explain difficult issues and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical guidance to direct and monitor the performance of an engineering team.
• Oversee design concepts, alternate solutions, and action plans for distribution power delivery systems.
• Set clear expectations aligned with the corporate plan and solve complex problems in the distribution system.
• Evaluate performance of engineers and the team.
• Promote cross-functional teamwork and adherence to safety policies.
• Develop goals and initiatives for the engineering team with Sr. Manager.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues in Distribution Engineering.
• Represent Distribution Engineering on project teams.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
