Job summary

The United Illuminating Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Orange, CT to lead substation design and project engineering across major capital initiatives. You will oversee technical work, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable power solutions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least three years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards for substations.
• Familiarity with substation design and one-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Project detailed engineering, designs and calculations through all phases from scoping to closeout.
• Maintain and understand drawings (schematics, one-line diagrams).
• Develop equipment specifications and assemble project documents.
• Perform electrical analyses and contribute to alternative designs to improve processes.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards and collaborate across departments.
