Job summary

The United Illuminating Company in Orange, CT is seeking a Senior Engineer – Protection & Control to design and configure automation, data collection, protection, and control subsystems for our electric delivery network.

You will lead relay settings, protection coordination, and NERC compliance programs, and collaborate with project teams on capital programs. This on-site role requires a PE or eligibility and a degree in electrical engineering, with experience in IEC61850 and protection schemes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technology with at least 5 years’ engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform relay settings design and relay coordination analysis for electric transmission and substation protection systems.
• Lead engineering contractors and consultants performing protection system settings for capital projects.
• Analyze disturbance event operations and develop fault analysis reports for management.
