Job summary

The United Illuminating Company is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate transmission line projects in Connecticut (and possibly New York). You will manage resources, priorities, investment plans, and project execution strategies to ensure on-schedule, on-budget delivery.

In this role based in Orange, CT, you will lead engineers, construction managers, and external contractors, drive risk and cost controls, and report to senior management on schedule, budget, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years relevant experience required.
• Experienced in contract negotiations and supplier management
• Proven experience obtaining siting permits
• PMP certification preferred
• Understanding of quality assurance processes (QMS, EMS, ISO 9000, ISO 14000) and implement with project structure
• Knowledge of main configuration and general arrangements of networks infrastructures (substations, overhead lines, and underground cable)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of project team members including engineers, construction managers, and external contractors.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and quality control to deliver projects on time.
• Represent the company in regulatory and public forums.
• Ensure compliance with FERC, NERC and other applicable regulations.
• Provide leadership and reporting on cost-schedule-risk views as required.
