Styropek’s Painesville plant in Ohio is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Coordinator to develop and manage comprehensive EHSS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations while promoting a culture of safety.

The role leads risk assessments, audits, training, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting; supports sustainability initiatives and emergency planning with a focus on site safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHSS roles with a proven track record.
• Preferred CSP, CSHM, CES, CHMM certifications.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, USEPA, OEPA regulations including site permitting.
• Excellent communication, training, and investigative skills; proficiency in EHSS software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, implement and maintain EHSS programs, training, policies, and procedures.
• Manage risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver training programs (classroom and CBT) for employees, contractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate and update contractor, vendor, and visitor training; site Industry Safe Systems Administrator.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental footprint and promote safety culture.
• Maintain and audit emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
• Monitor EHSS performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop workplace exposure assessments and manage EHSS budget oversight.
• Lead internal and external reporting, audits and regulatory initiatives.
• Engage with community emergency services and regulatory officials.
