Job summary

MS Companies is seeking an EH&S Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in Springfield, OH. This role helps develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in EH&S within manufacturing, strong OSHA knowledge, and experience in training, inspections, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years in EH&S or related manufacturing safety role.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and safety regs at federal/state/local levels.
• Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training at all levels.
• Experience conducting safety investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance programs
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Coordinate new hire safety orientation, OSHA training, and ongoing employee safety training programs
• Support workers' compensation administration, claims management, and return-to-work activities
• Monitor workplace safety performance and identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve compliance
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, investigations, and recommend corrective actions
• Assist with developing and updating company safety policies and procedures
• Stay informed on regulatory changes and communicate updates to leadership
• Partner with operations and security teams to promote a safe work environment
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and regulatory records
• Perform additional EH&S-related responsibilities as assigned

This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance programs while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment and possesses strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety, workers' compensation, and environmental compliance. This individual will work cross-functionally to promote a safe workplace, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement in EH&S programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications
