Job summary

Land O’Frost in Illinois seeks a Manager Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability to design, implement, and monitor comprehensive programs across the plant, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and advancing safety culture.

You will lead Process Safety Management for the ammonia refrigeration system and partner with management to improve employee engagement in health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in environmental or safety management in manufacturing.
• Ability to lead in a changing environment and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Train and advise on safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and Illinois regulations.
• Lead local sustainability efforts to meet internal LOF goals.
• Collaborate with plant management to improve Culture IQ and Employee Engagement in health, safety, and sustainability.
• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, procedures.
• Develop onsite safety, environment, and emergency management programs.
• Lead management of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Planning (RMP) for ammonia refrigeration.
• Interact with management and workers to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Provide analytics on injury trends and recommendations to eliminate hazards.
