Job summary

Amcor is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leader to develop and administer our facility EHS programs in Illinois. You will foster awareness, accountability, and integration of EHS with business activities, guiding the site to minimize liability and promote sustainability.

The role supports facilities with 150-350 employees and involves leading safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with engineering to reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years experience in EHS.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS safety committee.
• Serve as a member of the plant Leadership Team.
• Develop, implement and continually enhance the Amcor EHS Management System at the facility.
• Identify and leverage EHS best practices and manage through WCOM pillars.
• Lead EHS planning at the facility including goals and performance reviews.
• Assist managers and employees with implementing safety and environmental initiatives.
• Conduct and coordinate EHS inspections and assessments for compliance and improvements.
• Provide progress reports to management and employees on EHS metrics.
• Coordinate resources to ensure legal and company EHS requirements are understood and managed.
• Prepare reports and respond to information requests related to EHS.
• Recommend improvements and ensure follow-up on identified concerns.
• Evaluate new materials for regulatory compliance and safety.
