Job summary

OSI Group in Chicago, IL is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to support the Facility EHS Manager in driving a strong safety culture. The role emphasizes compliance with federal, state and local regulations and corporate standards, plus coaching across all levels of staff to improve EHS performance.

You will participate in audits, update policies, manage corrective actions, and assist with training and investigations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of how to understand and apply EHS regulations, industry best practices and other related guidelines preferred.
• GSP, ASP or other certifications, preferred.
• Experience with Management Systems, such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both individually and in a group setting.
• Must have interpersonal skills to influence others.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facility EHS Manager in leading the EHS culture while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Coach all levels of employees to achieve best-in-class EHS performance.
• Review and update safety policies and procedures to assure compliance.
• Participate in EHS audits and inspections and track corrective actions to closure.
• Promote safety awareness and culture across shifts using risk reduction techniques.
• Assist with workers compensation, liability or property claim investigations and corrective actions.
• Participate on facility safety committees and administer EHS training classes.
• Represent the company during safety inspections as needed.
