Job summary

SpaceX in Long Beach, CA seeks an EHS Supervisor to lead a team of EHS specialists/technicians and drive the Environmental Health & Safety program across the site.

The role requires ensuring compliance, safety, and resource allocation while guiding the department and engineering teams through policies, inspections, and incident response. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety disciplines.
• 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities/priorities of the EHS specialist/technician team.
• Ensure a collaborative relationship with the EHS specialist/technician and engineering teams.
• Coordinate employee schedules, work assignments, timekeeping requirements, and hiring.
• Provide instructional guidance with regards to job assignments, correct procedures, and applicable techniques to perform specific skills; ensure accuracy and completion.
• Coordinate with site leadership to ensure appropriate EHS involvement in department development/modification plans and procedure development.
• Ensure specialists/technicians are completing all required tasks thoroughly and on time.
• Document all performance and compliance issues with specialists/technicians.
• Implement and maintain site-specific safety policies.
• Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to safety-related items.
• Ensure specialists/technicians are completing required safety inspections via daily communication and oversight.
• Ensure hazards are being appropriately addressed and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments are created.
• Perform tasks and ensure compliance related to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and regulations around hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal requirements.
• Ensure that environmental tasks, such as Storm Water and Spill Prevention Countermeasures and Control Plans, are allocated and completed as directed by the EHS Manager.
