Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to lead the design, development and oversight of EHS programs.

Responsibilities include ensuring OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH compliance, conducting hazard assessments, and guiding policies across facilities and equipment. The role requires strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in design, development and oversight of EHS disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other agencies.
• Collaborate with leadership to complete hazard assessments and implement policies.
• Monitor employee exposure to hazards and manage machine guarding.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, NEPA and related regulations.
