Job summary

SpaceX in California is seeking a Manager of Environmental Health & Safety to lead the EHS program in a fast-paced, high-stakes aerospace environment. The role focuses on day-to-day and strategic oversight of EHS activities, guiding a team of technicians, specialists, and engineers while coordinating with site leadership on plans and procedures.

Qualified candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in EHS design/oversight, 3+ years of EHS management, and preferably aerospace experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of design, development, and operational oversight of EHS disciplines.
• 3+ years of EHS management experience.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Experience leading a team of EHS engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day and long-term activities/priorities of the EHS team including technicians, specialists and engineers.
• Coordinate with site leadership to ensure EHS involvement in plans and procedure development.
• Represent the EHS department at site-wide management meetings and briefings.
• Provide instructional guidance on job assignments, correct procedures and applicable techniques.
• Ensure mission and values are communicated and integrated within team goals.
• Implement OSHA-compliant occupational safety programs and documentation.
• Maintain site environmental policies including hazardous waste, air permitting, spill prevention/response, stormwater, and wastewater.
• Coordinate with and serve as the main point of contact for local resource agencies.
