Job summary

Specialist Environmental Health & Safety in Piedmont, SC is seeking an EHS Specialist to administer and support environmental, health, and safety programs, promoting regulatory compliance and safe operations. You will serve as a subject matter expert for daily EHS activities and partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and auditing principles.
Minimum 4 years of EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and applicable regulations.
Experience in incident investigations, inspections, audits, and root-cause analysis.
Experience delivering safety training and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for environmental, health, and safety programs and provide guidance on compliance and risk mitigation.
Administer EHS programs to support OSHA, EPA, NFPA requirements and regulatory compliance.
Support ISO 14001/45001 compliance and auditing activities.
Conduct safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and environmental evaluations.
Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events with root-cause analysis.
Develop and deliver EHS training including new-hire orientation and regulatory training.
Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and leadership on risk reduction and improvements.
Monitor EHS performance metrics, maintain documentation and regulatory reports.
Maintain permits, inspection records, training docs, SDS files, and compliance records.
Support emergency preparedness and regulatory inspections; participate in third-party audits.
