Specialty Silicone Products, Inc. in Ballston Spa, NY, seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to reinforce and advance our safety and environmental programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting staff and contractors.

The role partners with production, HR, maintenance, and leadership to proactively identify hazards, coordinate training, investigate incidents, and foster a respectful, safety-first culture in a 54,000 sq ft facility.

Competenze

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing safety/environmental programs are a plus.
• OSHA regulations and standard manufacturing safety programs familiarity.
• Hazmat Manifest/Transport certification or plan to obtain within 6 months.

Mansioni

• Maintain and improve site safety and environmental programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, NYS DEC, and applicable regulations.
• Deliver safety training and ensure PPE compliance, ergonomics, hearing conservation, respirators, and emergency evacuation processes.
• Identify and mitigate hazards through daily walk-throughs, JSAs, inspections, and reviews of new equipment, materials, and processes.
• Maintain the SDS system and oversee chemical labeling and safe storage practices.
• Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses using root-cause analysis.
• Facilitate the Safety Committee and track action items to ensure timely resolution of concerns.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs and vendor coordination.
• Maintain the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan and serve as Chief Warden during drills.
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program through procedures and audits.
• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and inspections.
• Track OSHA logs and postings to promote a positive safety culture aligned with SSP’s CORE Principles.
