Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an EHS professional to guide personnel and contractor safety in an early-stage discovery R&D laboratory. You will develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health and safety programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with AbbVie’s EHS management system.

You will lead hazard assessments, waste programs, contractor safety, and training, delivering actionable safety improvements across the site and collaborating with global EHS colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing EHS regulations and conducting incident investigations.
• Technical writing and effective business communications.
• Ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and training delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, facilities and environment.
• Interprets and implements EHS programs to ensure compliance with external regulations and internal standards.
• Leads EHS programs including hazard identification, waste management, and high-hazard controls.
• Performs incident investigations to determine root causes and supports corrective actions.
• Develops and delivers EHS training on hazard communication, emergency response, and safety topics.
• Collaborates across the internal EHS network to share best practices.
