Job summary

AbbVie seeks a strategic EHS leader to drive environmental, health and safety performance across a global business area. You will lead development and execution of programs that prevent significant incidents and strengthen regulatory compliance, partnering with senior leaders to integrate EHS into strategy and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental, occupational safety or industrial hygiene required.
• 15 years of EHS experience with at least 10 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• International travel could be required and ability to work in a global matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of innovative EHS programs to prevent significant incidents and strengthen regulatory compliance.
• Build organizational capability by mentoring site and above-site EHS professionals and leading a global team.
• Ensure compliance across country, federal, state, and local EHS regulations and drive risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into business strategy and daily operations.
• Demonstrate ability to influence senior management and manage budgets and financial responsibilities.
