Summary of the Role

Responsible for overseeing and leading the organization’s EHS programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Ensures overall compliance in all safety areas, including environmental and regulatory requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Administers safety policies, ensuring adherence and compliance.
• Influences employee attitudes to foster safety commitment.
• Prioritizes risks and manages health and safety resources.
• Supports a safety culture across departments.
• Maintains safety training records.
• Documents safety procedures and policies.
• Evaluates equipment for safety compliance.
• Implements engineering controls and safeguards.
• Stays updated on environmental health regulations.
• Investigates incidents and initiates corrective actions.
• Acts as Emergency Coordinator as needed.
• Maintains and communicates the IIPP.
• Conducts safety drills and inspections.
• Leads the Safety Committee and ensures PPE compliance.
• Coordinates safety audits and reports.
• Develops safety incentive programs.
• Manages safety records, including OSHA logs and inspections.
• Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies and insurance carriers.
• Conducts safety training for all employees.
• Works with maintenance on lockout/tagout procedures.
• Recommends safety process updates.
• Integrates safety into continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience creating safety training programs.
• Ability to develop and document safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA Certification.
• LEAN Manufacturing experience.

Competencies

• Proficiency in English communication.
• Effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Ability to lead safety culture initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Travel Requirements

• Minimal travel for seminars and events.
