Reporting Line

This position reports to Business Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee and implement management systems related to HSE, including executing training strategies to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards in the US Region for our Electrification Service organization.

You will collaborate with HSE professionals to promote HSE expectations, accountability, and compliance, fostering a positive HSE culture across the Electrification Service NAM organization, including field service teams.

Work Model

The work model for this role is: Remote.

Main Accountabilities
  1. Provide HSE leadership to the Electrification Service organization, focusing on the US West (California) and/or South (Southeast) regions. Evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies for new projects.
  2. Develop and review site-specific safety plans with project teams and clients; assist in training and selecting personnel at job sites.
  3. Collaborate with functional managers and leaders to support and improve learning, development practices, policies, and procedures.
  4. Support the development and harmonization of HSE tools, programs, and management systems, ensuring their proper implementation.
  5. Implement and optimize processes and procedures aligned with ABB policies, maintaining digital systems like Benchmark, Intelex, etc., for managing HSE programs.
  6. Support the electrical and LOTO programs, including policies, training, and qualifications of trainers.
  7. Lead and participate in HSE audits for compliance and continuous improvement.
  8. Manage digital analytics to track performance and support HSE metrics reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree + minimum 8 years' HSE experience focusing on Field Service OR Associate's degree + 10 years' experience OR High School diploma + 12 years' experience.
  • Formal certification and training in Safety and Environmental fields.
  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards.
  • Advanced skills in database management and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically.
  • Legal work authorization for the US is required.
