Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to drive our robust EHS program at the Omaha facility. You will lead OSHA/EPA compliance, EMS/SIPS initiatives, and ISO certifications while guiding incident investigations and safety training across teams.

You will design and implement programs to protect workers, manage permits, and monitor KPIs, partnering with plant leadership to maintain safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety field required.
• 2+ years in team management or project leadership.
• Ability to lead emergency response efforts under stress.
• Experience training staff on OSHA, environmental regulations, SOPs, and emergency protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Environmental, Health and Safety programs for OSHA, EPA, EMS, SIPS, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
• Manage incident investigations, worker safety, and environmental permits; coordinate audits and corrective actions.
• Lead training and development of production employees and management on EHS systems.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and incidents.
• Collaborate with plant management to ensure compliance and security planning.
