Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Nebraska is seeking a Senior EHS Manager to oversee the environmental, health, and safety department at the Crete site. You will lead regulatory compliance initiatives across Worker Safety, Environmental, PSM, RMP, Security, and EMS, while guiding continuous improvement and training programs.

You will manage an EHS team, develop talent, ensure timely regulatory reporting, and drive KPI-driven performance with a strong focus on injury prevention and system-wide safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related field; 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience leading and developing an EHS team.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, PSM, RMP, EMS, and wastewater regulations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and management systems for the site.
• Lead EHS team through delegation, policy administration, and development.
• Ensure required training in line with regulatory and Smithfield EHS systems.
• Prepare regulatory reports and KPI metrics with thorough documentation.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Drive compliance, training, and best practices across all site levels.
