Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to drive health and safety excellence on project sites in Charlotte, NC.

This role reports to the Director, EHS and focuses on auditing programs, implementing corrective actions, and continuously improving workplace safety. You will develop site-specific training, coordinate with regulators and subcontractors, mentor staff, and manage safety documentation and return-to-work processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience coordinating and managing health and safety for construction projects.
• Leadership role experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant health and safety acts.
• Post‑secondary education in Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively and manage change.

Responsibilities

• Develop site-specific safety training and orientation of workers, supervisors, staff, subcontractors, and clients.
• Review project plans and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, government inspectors, subcontractors, and the general public.
• Work with senior management to continuously improve Health and Safety Programs.
• Represent the Company at meetings with stakeholders on health and safety matters.
• Mentor project staff in conventional safety procedures.
• Track and report safety-related statistics.
• Support Return to Work and Modified Duties processes at the field level.
• Inspect and audit EHS documentation and programs.
