Job summary

Roadtex Transportation seeks an EHS Manager to lead development and execution of an environmental, health and safety program across seven ambient and temperature-controlled, food-grade warehouses. Initially an individual contributor role, it sets standards, drives accountability and reduces risk while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role has authority to stop work for imminent risk, coordinates with site leaders, and partners with HR and Operations on workers' comp and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Seven+ years in progressive EHS roles, with 3+ years leading programs across multiple sites.
• Experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics or material-handling environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental requirements, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, incident investigation, emergency response and contractor safety.
• Analytical, communication, training and influencing skills; valid driver’s license; travel capacity.
• Prefers CSP/ASP/CIH/CHST or equivalent; OSHA 30-hour or OSHA 511/501 coursework.
• Experience in food-grade/temperature-controlled warehousing, Cal/OSHA, temp labor, automation, expansion.
• Experience with workers' comp, insurance loss-control, EHS tech or dashboards; Spanish is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop Warehouse Services EHS strategy, roadmap, annual plan and management system.
• Establish policies, standards, audit protocols and governance routines; advise leadership on risks.
• Lead risk assessments for forklifts, ergonomics, docks, machinery and facilities.
• Maintain OSHA/state programs, permits, records, reporting and control measures.
• Stop work if serious risk exists; restart after controls are verified.
• Deliver role-based training; own truck training standards; coach leaders on safety.
• Investigate injuries and near-misses; ensure corrective actions are effective.
• Collaborate with HR/Operations on workers' comp, medical and transitional duty.
