Job summary

CertainTeed Siding is seeking an experienced EHS Manager at our Hagerstown/Williamsport, MD site to lead environmental, health, safety, and emergency response programs across a large, 24/7 operation.

You will coach supervisors, drive a proactive safety culture, manage incidents and compliance calendars, and partner with unions to sustain safety improvements while aligning with Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Management)
• 5+ years of EHS management in manufacturing, unionized, extrusion/plastics/building products or similar heavy industrial environments
• 3–5 years of regulatory compliance, incident reduction, training, audit and frontline engagement
• Experience with environmental permitting/recordkeeping, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous/universal waste, air/emissions, and regulatory reporting
• Knowledge of Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA, MOC, LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, contractor safety, emergency response, industrial hygiene

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety strategy across production, maintenance, warehouse/logistics, engineering, quality and contractors.
• Own and sustain site safety programs, ProAct behavioral safety, 4ORMS, safe work procedures, safety committee cadence and frontline engagement across shifts.
• Develop and maintain compliance calendar, safety training matrix, certification tracking, audit schedule and annual EHS Plan.
• Serve as plant contact for OSHA/MOSH safety requirements and represent site during audits.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Create/update risk assessments, JSAs, work instructions, MOC reviews, contractor safety controls and LOTO/electrical safety expectations.
• Address site-specific risks including equipment in motion, forklift traffic, extrusion hazards, heat stress, noise and chemicals.
• Provide leadership to the Safety Coordinator and department safety owners.
