Job summary

Smith-Midland Corporation is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead programs across all manufacturing facilities. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

As a hands-on leader, you will audit facilities, lead incident investigations, manage OSHA records, and coordinate training and emergency planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Working knowledge of EPA environmental regulations.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Experience developing and delivering safety training.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide health and safety programs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture with employee engagement and accountability.
• Conduct routine safety audits and inspections at all locations.
• Lead incident investigations and determine root causes using recognized investigation methods.
• Develop corrective and preventive action plans and ensure timely completion.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare monthly reports for executive leadership.
• Manage OSHA recordkeeping, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs.
• Coordinate emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
• Lead safety committee meetings and employee safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with plant management to improve safety and operational performance.
• Assist with contractor safety management and vendor evaluations.
