Job summary

Amcor is seeking an EHS Specialist to implement and manage our environmental, health, and safety programs on site. You will lead safety initiatives, perform risk assessments, and coordinate training to maintain a safe workplace in our manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong communication, organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently within a team, with a preference for candidates with industrial safety experience and knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety Management or a related field strongly preferred.
• A minimum of one year of Safety Experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Experience in the plastics industry helpful.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly accident summary reports.
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Conduct and/or coordinates employee safety and environmental training programs.
• Perform daily safety walks and identify and correct workplace hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Work with on-site teams on risk assessment.
• Assist in maintaining OSHA 300 Logs and relevant reports.
• Schedule training courses for in-house opportunities.
• Assist in Emergency Procedure drills and Safety Committee tasks.
• Assist in Management of Change procedures and workers compensation reporting.
• Conduct incident reporting using the incident-reporting database.
• Identify hazardous conditions and recommend corrective measures.
• Investigate all accidents and property losses.
• Provide safety training information for monthly safety meetings.
• Organize and oversee required safety training like fork truck, lockout, etc.
• Provide safety orientation to new employees via New Hire Onboarding Process.
• Maintain chemical inventory and update SDS in the system.
• Assist in purchasing appropriate PPE.
