Job summary

The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business seeks an experienced EHS leader to ensure that all aspects of site environmental, health and safety are in compliance with laws and DRS EH&S policy.

You will develop proactive safety programs, interface with regulatory agencies, lead risk assessments, and drive training and audit readiness across the site. A BS in Environmental Science and 5+ years of manufacturing EHS experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills with conflict resolution ability.
• Excellent communication, organization and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with PC-based systems.
• OSHA/annual compliance training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement proactive safety programs with metrics.
• Interface with government and regulatory agencies.
• Manage site performance and contract commitments for continuous improvement.
• Lead teams in risk assessment processes.
• Oversee EH&S development and training programs and audit readiness.
• Provide EH&S audit services and project management as needed.
• Support mission, values and culture across the organization.
• Lead day-to-day environmental, health and safety management by leadership.
• Act as advocate for Green Initiatives within the organization.
• Serve as site emergency coordinator when requested.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
