Job summary

Emerson Electric Co is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer at our Brenham, Texas facility to lead EHS programs across the plant. You will develop technical EHS solutions, drive improvements, and partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to reduce risk and foster a proactive safety culture.

The role requires a BS or higher in a related field, 5+ years in manufacturing EHS, and strong regulatory knowledge. Travel is occasional; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Environmental, Health, Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Working knowledge of federal, Texas, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and technical safety improvement projects.
• Strong communication, training, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic EHS management systems.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental, health, and safety programs to support a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
• Develop and implement technical EHS solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance to reduce risk and strengthen safety culture.
• Lead safety projects from risk assessment through installation, training, and verification.
• Review risks and controls for equipment, processes, layouts, and chemicals before purchase or startup.
• Conduct shop floor walkthroughs, JHAs, equipment reviews, and follow up on corrective actions.
