Job summary

Base is seeking an EHS Engineer to support field operations in Texas. You will perform hazard assessments, incident investigations, and work with site leaders to prevent injuries while ensuring environmental compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will develop safety programs, inspect facilities, and manage waste handling, applying best practices to protect people, property, and the environment. This is a hands-on, collaborative role in a growing startup.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in design, development and oversight of EHS disciplines.
  • Ability to research and apply industry best practices for safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines (Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH).
  • Collaborate with leadership to perform job hazard assessments and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene studies to evaluate byproducts against health thresholds.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to identify hazards and implement guarding as needed.
  • Complete and maintain safety observations from hazard audits.
  • Investigate accidents to determine root causes and preventive actions.
  • Develop safety solutions within cost/schedule constraints using hierarchy of controls.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
