Job summary

TRIUMPHdesigns in West Hartford, CT seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to build a proactive safety culture and implement comprehensive EHS policies for a 500+ employee manufacturing facility.

The role covers regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, incident investigations, and leadership of safety training and programs across the site, with opportunities for growth and impact on safety culture and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health and Environmental studies or related disciplines with thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines.
• Five to ten years of manufacturing experience in Environmental, Health and Safety roles.
• ES&H certifications such as REM, CIH, CSP, CHMM are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a proactive safety culture across the plant.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor EHS policies and training to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and environmental permitting across the site (Air Quality, Storm Water, SPCC).
• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on PPE and health-related workplace safety issues.
• Manage wastewater treatment and hazardous/universal waste programs.
• Develop and lead site emergency planning, drills, and safety training.
• Support facility-wide EHS strategic plans and management reviews.
