Job summary

Home Market Foods in South Windsor, CT is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs. This role ensures regulatory compliance and promotes a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors at the South Windsor facility.

The candidate will develop training, monitor program effectiveness, and coordinate with agencies to uphold PSM requirements and sustainability initiatives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7+ years of EHS management experience in manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and related regulations.
• ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in line with regulations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, implementing improvements.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventive measures.
• Maintain SDS and ensure hazard communication compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulate PSM program requirements.
• Oversee plant security operations in partnership with Security Manager.
