Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a HIM Electronic Health Record Specialist to perform scanning, quality review, and release of information across multiple levels. The role requires portal support, MRN merge, and provider deficiency reporting, with adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies.

The candidate will work with the Health Information Management department to ensure accurate, timely processing of medical records and secure patient information handling.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA and release of information processes.
• Ability to review records for accuracy and completeness.
• Familiarity with patient portals and portal communications.

Responsibilities

• Level 1: Retrieve charts daily and log discharged visits; prep and scan documents; upload images; index records; analyze charts for accuracy; assign deficiencies by department.
• Level 2: Review requests per HIPAA and statutory requirements; process ROI in EMR; handle government requests with billing; monitor records requests.
• Level 3: Manage portal emails/phone requests; merge duplicate MRNs; provide weekly lists of incomplete records; coordinate with medical staff on delinquent records.
• All Levels: Maintain confidentiality; assist in training and procedures; provide excellent customer service.
