Job summary

IntelliBee is seeking an HIEA RHT Provider EHR Support Specialist to help rural and underserved healthcare providers connect to NC HealthConnex and maximize its use. You will bring expertise in EHRs, interoperability standards, and data quality to ensure compliant submissions and smooth onboarding.

Responsibilities include guiding vendors through HL7 v2, C-CDA/CCD exchanges, supporting data transformation, and delivering tailored trainings to providers.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, NextGen).
• 5 years of proficiency in HL7 v2, C-CDA, CCD, FHIR, USCDI.
• Experience validating structured clinical data and troubleshooting EHR integration issues.
• Ability to interpret clinical workflows and map them to data exchange requirements.
• Strong communication skills; explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and health information privacy/security requirements.
• Experience supporting HIE onboarding, interoperability projects, or multi-vendor EHR environments.
• Experience with SQL, interface engines, or data mapping tools.
• Familiarity with NC HIEA initiatives, Medicaid QPHE, or NCQA DAV.
• Experience with rural or underserved provider settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead rural onboarding to NC HealthConnex, guiding providers and EHR vendors through connection requirements and HL7 v2/CCD exchanges.
• Conduct technical assessments of EHR capabilities, interface configurations, and data extraction workflows.
• Coordinate with NC HIEA and technical teams to support integration tickets and data ingestion issues.
• Provide guidance on interoperability standards (HL7 v2, C-CDA, CCD, USCDI) and troubleshoot message structure.
• Review provider data submissions for completeness and quality; uplift data quality initiatives.
• Work with providers and EHR vendors to identify root causes and map workflows.
• Deliver tailored technical trainings and materials to help rural providers use NC HealthConnex tools.
• Collaborate on onboarding processes and project coordination.
• Contribute to modernization of rural NC health infrastructure and ongoing onboarding improvements.
