Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Dock Worker 1 in the Donated Goods Retail department. You will support the flow of goods by loading/unloading, processing donations, and maintaining organized docks to ensure efficient operations.

This non-exempt, hourly role requires reliable transportation, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strict safety adherence. You will perform bale counts, move items with equipment, and assist with quality control.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Material Handler or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Goodwill Houston’s core values in all actions.
• Ensures safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety policies.
• Processes donated goods efficiently and maintains an organized dock area.
• Moves goods on the dock and in production areas using material handling equipment.
• Rotates products on and off the floor per rotation schedule.
• Performs daily paperwork and maintains bale counts (8–10 bales per 8‑hour shift).
• Follows compliance standards and reports maintenance needs to a manager.
• Establishes cooperative work relationships with team members.
