Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in Pensacola, FL. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a path to join a team that prioritizes patient care and empathy.

You will support the dentist, perform expanded-function duties, take radiographs and impressions, and help maintain a compliant, efficient clinical environment while delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • EFDA Certification required per state requirements.
  • Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform expanded-function dental assisting duties within the scope of applicable state laws and regulations.
  • Assist the dentist with restorative, preventive, and other clinical procedures.
  • Prepare teeth, instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.
  • Take radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and other diagnostic records as directed.
  • Provide authorized preventive services such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, sterilization, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and appropriate post-operative care.
  • Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
  • Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.
  • Maintain all required EFDA credentials, certifications, and continuing education.
  • The ideal candidate is clinically confident, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with the dental team.
