Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Andover, MA is seeking a Component Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of EEEE components for Missile & Fire Control programs, ensuring performance, reliability, and conformance. You will evaluate, qualify, test, and troubleshoot parts, prepare source control drawings, review supplier data, and lead obsolescence and failure analysis with cross-functional teams.

BS in Electrical Engineering is required (MS preferred); US citizenship and active or interim secret DoD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Component Engineering or related field with a Bachelors degree; with Master’s degree, no experience required.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills with proven collaboration with customers and cross-functional teammates.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical component parameters and packaging.
  • Knowledge of component engineering obsolescence tools (Silicon Expert, IHS BOM Intelligence).
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a secret DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct selection, evaluation, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of electrical, electronic, EM, and EO components.
  • Prepare and maintain Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs) and other baseline drawings.
  • Evaluate suppliers, review test reports, and recommend qualified vendors for EEEE parts.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, SCDs, and related documentation for subcontractor-supplied components.
  • Develop component qualification test plans and manage part qualifications with third party test houses as needed.
  • Develop component screenings for parts as directed by Parts Management Process plan.
  • Research and determine impact of PCNs and obsolescence on programs.
  • Lead or support issue resolution on the PMP board and guide failure-analysis activities within EEEE domain.
