Soliant is seeking an Educational Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year. This role covers full-time and part-time positions in Alaska, providing essential communication access for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

Interpreters render spoken language into sign language and vice versa within classroom settings. Responsibilities include interpreting lessons, facilitating communication among students and staff, and preparing materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Educational Interpreting or a related field.
• Valid EIPA certification meeting Alaska state requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities using appropriate sign systems (e.g., ASL).
• Support communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff.
• Prepare for lessons by reviewing instructional materials and vocabulary.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure access to curriculum.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional interpreting standards.
• Assist in IEP-related communication as appropriate.
