Job summary

Forest Hills Public School District seeks a Technology Support Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain district computer equipment, networks, and peripherals to minimize downtime and support curriculum delivery.

The role involves diagnosing hardware and software issues, providing remote and on-site assistance, and coordinating with district teams. A college degree or IT certification and 1+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

College degree or technical IT certifications preferred.
Minimum of one year's related work experience.
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies and architectures.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, systems and network issues.
Proficiency with Google Apps for Education and MS Office.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, repair, move, and replace desktops, laptops and peripherals.
Follow and understand oral and written instructions, including technical documentation.
Communicate effectively and respond under pressure while maintaining professional relationships with staff.
Manage tasks from analysis to final resolution.
Provide first line IT support for users via help desk, phone, or email.
Provide remote and onsite support for desktop applications, hardware, and peripherals.
Document work logs and technical steps in FHPS systems.
Track issues to resolution and maintain communication with users until resolved.
