Job summary

Bedford Public Schools in Bedford, MA is seeking a Network and Server Engineer to install, repair and troubleshoot computers and peripherals, and to maintain servers and networking equipment for the district.

The role reports to the Director of Information Systems, is a 12-month position, with a salary range of $90-120k annually and a comprehensive benefits package. CORI and fingerprint background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experienced with Microsoft operating systems, software applications and internet.
• Experience in hardware and software installations and troubleshooting.
• Firm understanding of TCP/IP and local area networking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (CORI) and fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor all servers and networking equipment.
• Perform network and system administration tasks including backups and inventory management.
• Operate and maintain internet connections, email systems and firewall.
• Manage network security including antivirus and intrusion protection.
• Design and implement network infrastructure for district continuity.
• Collaborate with the Facilities department on special networks and connectivity.
