Job summary

Bedford Public Schools is seeking a Network and Server Engineer to install, repair and troubleshoot computers and peripherals across district facilities. The role reports to the Director of Information Systems and is a 12-month, full-time position with a salary of $90,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Comprehensive benefits are included. Responsibilities include maintaining servers, network equipment, security, backups, and ensuring continuous service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experienced user of Microsoft operating systems, software applications and internet.
• Experience in hardware and software installations and troubleshooting.
• Firm understanding and experience with TCP/IP, local area networking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor all servers and networking equipment.
• Perform network and system administration including backups and inventories.
• Operate and maintain internet connections, email systems and firewall.
• Manage network security including antivirus and intrusion protection.
• Design and implement network infrastructure to ensure continuity of services.
• Forecast, plan and implement needs to keep district network and servers running.
