Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware seeks an Education Director to lead program development, supervise part-time staff and volunteers, manage safety, and drive fundraising and community assessment for membership growth.

The role requires implementing engaging K-8 lesson plans, coordinating with school communities, and promoting enrichment programming while maintaining accurate records and complying with OCCL/STARS requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least twenty (20) years of age.
• Must possess School-Age Site Assistant Certificate.
• Must pass FBI clearance and state background checks per Delacare regulations.
• 12 College credits related to school-age services or 60 credits plus 12 related credits OR a Bachelor with 12 related credits.
• Experience options: 3 yrs (Option A) or 2 yrs (Option B) or 3 months supervised student teaching (Option C).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with goals for K-8.
• Supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and youth.
• Communicate with school, parents, and children effectively.
• Assess community needs and support enrollment and marketing.
• Develop and promote programming for youth through engaging curricula.
• Maintain accurate records and administrative paperwork.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are safe and well maintained.
• Complete required OCCL/STARS trainings for credentialing.
