Job summary

UnitedHealthcare is seeking an Associate Director, Newsroom & Digital Content Strategy to lead the writing team and develop enterprise editorial strategies. The role focuses on timely, trusted, consumer-friendly content that enhances visibility across traditional search and AI-powered experiences.

The leader will oversee day-to-day Newsroom operations, establish editorial priorities, workflows and review standards, while partnering with digital product, SEO, analytics, and subject-matter teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in communications, journalism, editorial strategy, digital content or related work.
• 5+ years of experience leading writers, editors or multidisciplinary content teams.
• 3+ years of experience developing enterprise-level editorial or content strategies.
• 1+ years of experience developing content strategies for generative AI search, GEO or AI visibility.
• Experience using data and insights to inform content strategy and prioritization.
• Willing and able to travel ~10% depending on business need.

Responsibilities

• Lead UHC Newsroom editorial strategy and operations.
• Develop and manage Newsroom content strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Assign and coach writers, set workflows and editorial calendars.
• Translate complex healthcare topics into consumer-friendly content.
• Drive GEO and AI visibility strategies for Newsroom and UHC.com.
• Create channel action plans and rapid response playbooks.
• Establish measurement framework and report on content performance.
